Stormaren

Stormaren is an Alvarsee on the Swedish Baltic island of Öland .

The Alvarsee is located in a depression in the Stora Alvaret in the southern part of the island, a little south of the road leading from Södra Möckleby to Torngård across the Alvar .

Around an island in the middle of Stormaren overgrown with rush edges , stiff sedge and reeds , there are open water surfaces. The partly moor-like lake is home to many birds typical of wetlands. Thus, horned grebe , marsh harrier , teal , teal , shoveler , common moorhen , water rails and Harrier are observed.
