Bumper tape

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A bump band is a strong band that is sewn into the lower end of the trouser legs from the inside to prevent the trouser edge from fraying due to friction on the shoes. Some trousers have such ribbons already sewn in, but such a ribbon can be sewn on later if necessary. They are mostly made of polyester . But bumper strips are also made from other materials, such as aluminum . They are used to reinforce various edges, for example on beach chairs .
