Strathdee was a whiskey distillery in Aberdeen , Scotland . The brandy produced was therefore assigned to the Highlands whiskey region . Along with Bon Accord and Devanha, Strathdee was one of the most important whiskey distilleries in Aberdeen.

history

Henry Ogg founded the distillery in 1821. He was succeeded by his son of the same name, who managed the business until it was taken over by David Walker in 1895. Train & McIntyre acquired the company in 1925 and closed it down around 1942. The buildings have meanwhile been torn down so that no traces of the former distillery are left today.

When Alfred Barnard visited the distillery as part of his major whiskey tour in 1886, it had an annual production capacity of approximately 55,000  gallons . There were two coarse stills ( wash stills ) with capacities of 2544 and 2150 gallons respectively. In addition, there was a spirit still with a capacity of 1770 gallons.
