Streaming search engine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A streaming search engine is a special search engine that searches for available offers of (mostly paid ) streaming content on the web.

restrictions

As is usually the case with meta search engines, the user cannot determine or expand the searched source pages and is thus committed to any sales partnerships between the operators of streaming search engines and the providers of the streaming content (content providers). Possible free content is also often not taken into account.

Business model

The expectation that streaming flat rates would reduce illegal file sharing is met according to various statistics. However, some users criticize the limited range of films, series and songs on various platforms. The use of such search engines can counteract the tendency of users to buy content from only one or a few providers. This promotes competition on the one hand, but increases the risk of price fixing on the other.
