Strebers was a Swedish punk band.

Career

It was founded in 1985 by Micke "Ulke" Johansson (guitar and vocals), Pelle Persson (bass and vocals) and Johnny Rydh († 1992) (drums and vocals). In 1987 Micke Blomqvist joined for two years, as his old band Asta Kask had split up before. In 1988 the Strebers disbanded for the time being, Ulke and Johnny founded the band Sixguns with bassist Fredrik "Ztikkan" Blomqvist . After releasing three singles, they changed the name back to Strebers. In 1992 Johnny died in a traffic accident. The last album Till en vän ( to a friend ) was dedicated to him. It was recorded with Sjölborn (actually a drum computer). Then the band went on tour with Stefan "Stipen" Karlsson as a drummer, as Sjölborn - as the legend tells - went to the USA as a jazz musician . In 1993 the Strebers became the band Dia Psalma , but in 2001 they played a few concerts again under the old name.
