Asta Kask
Asta Kask is a Swedish punk band from Töreboda .

In 1978 the band was founded by Micke Blomqvist ( vocals and guitar ), Pelle Karlsson, Uffe Karlsson and Stefan Hovbjer under the name X-Tas and later renamed Asta Kask . With this line-up, they recorded the first EP in 1981 and separated shortly afterwards.
The name Asta Kask comes from Micke's ancestors from the 19th century: a woman was named Asta Kask .
At the end of 1982 Micke had re-founded the band with Bonni “Bonta” Pontén as second guitarist and singer , Magnus “Ernie” Hörnell as bassist and Magnus “Bjurre” Bjurén as drummer .
Up to and including 1986 there were 3 EPs, a mini- LP or maxi-EP, a live LP and a studio LP. Since Asta Kask never intended to record a full LP , but they eventually did, they named it "Aldrig en LP" (never an LP). Then they separated and played in other bands like Strebers or Cosa Nostra .
In 1989 there was an Asta Kask reunion because all four had fun making music together. This was followed by a live split CD with Roland's Gosskör , and in 1993 another live CD . In the early 90s, some of the band's 80s releases were also re-released on CD. Then again - this time for 10 years - Asta Kask was over. In 2000, Höhnie Records in Germany released a best-of compilation LP and an EP with unreleased material.
In 2003/2004 the members of the band got together again and toured extensively through Sweden. In addition, a best-of double CD with studio and demo recordings was released. In 2004 they had their first appearance in Germany at the Punk-im-Pott-Festival, but drummer Bjurre was canceled and was replaced by Phill Hill from Rasta Knast .
In the meantime Bjurre has separated from the band. The new drummer David "Dadde" Stark is now taking over his position.
On November 15, 2006, the first studio album in 20 years "En för alla ingen för nån" and the DVD "Dom får aldrig mig" were released. The DVD includes a 56-minute film about the band's history, 16 live tracks and a bonus CD with 17 new recordings of their old songs. A re-release of the “Aldrig en CD” and a compilation of all vinyl EPs in digitally revised form are planned for the beginning of 2007.
