Töreboda is a place in the Swedish province of Västra Götalands län and the historic province of Västergötland .
The main town of the municipality of the same name is located about 15 km east of Mariestad on the Göta Canal and on the main railway line Gothenburg - Stockholm . In Töreboda, the lines started by Stockholm and Gothenburg met during the construction of this railway line.
