Streu-Gammatox

Streu-Gammatox was a plant protection product manufactured and sold in the GDR to combat soil pests. It was based on the active ingredient lindane, which has since been banned because of its harmful environmental effects . It was produced by the VEB Elektrochemisches Kombinat Bitterfeld .

Streu-Gammatox acted as a touch poison, food poison and breath poison. The insecticide was used against soil pests such as groundworms , wireworms and white grubs and could be applied all year round.
