technology

The aim of string skipping is to hit the desired strings cleanly at high playing speed , which, in contrast to the normal alternating strike on one string, have a greater distance from one another. The pick has to cover a relatively long distance z. B. be overcome between the sixth and the third string, which contradicts a high speed and makes string skipping a difficult technique.

String skipping is well suited for creating large intervals without having to massively change the position of the gripping hand .

Virtuoso performers

A master of string skipping was the late electric guitarist Shawn Lane .
