Structural lipids
Structural lipids are fatty substances ( lipids ) that help build biological structures, especially cell membranes .
In addition to non-polar fatty acids , these lipids also contain other polar residual groups. According to these residual groups, they are classified chemically as
- Phospholipids (with phosphate residue )
- Glycolipids (with sugar residue )
