The Student Prince Award is presented in the seminar "Making Psychological Educational Films" at the Institute for Psychology at Heidelberg University. In 2005, the two lecturers Bärbel Maier -schicht and Bernd Reuschenbach received the Baden-Württemberg State Teaching Prize for the concept .

For the Student Prince Award, students learn the basics of media design (concept, filming, editing). The films are made in small groups within a semester and are shown to the public.

A jury of experts made up of lecturers and members of the university, filmmakers and sponsors will decide on the winners together with the audience, with the votes for the films being given anonymously and concealed by school grades. The votes of the experts count fivefold for the final result.
