The Stumpfwaldgericht or regional court on the Stampe , later the Rügegericht Neun Stühle , is a court of law for the Counts of Leiningen in the northern Palatinate Forest . It is one of the three imperial regional courts in Wormsgau .

The place is 4 km northeast of Alsenborn . Allegedly there was a court or thing place here as early as the Germanic or even Celtic times . The area of the stump forest was called "Stamp" from the 8th to 13th centuries , later "Stampf" . In 1933 the Alsenborn community erected a memorial in the form of a ring made of nine small cuboid stones, the small chairs. One of the chairs each stands for the Neunmärker, the nine forest-authorized communities in the area. In the middle of the small chairs is the large chair, a piece of ashlar with the inscription “District Court of the Counts of Wormsgau and Dukes of Franconia 6. – 15. Century "carries.
