Stung Treng ( Khmer ស្ទឹងត្រែង , transcription: Stœ̆ng Trêng ) is the capital of the province of the same name Stung Treng in northeast Cambodia within the district of the same name. The city is located on the south bank of the Tonlé San (Sesan) river, about one kilometer from its confluence with the Mekong , and has 29,665 inhabitants (2009 calculation).
