Stuttgart Schütz edition

The Stuttgarter Schütz Edition is a source-critical edition of the works of the composer Heinrich Schütz (1585–1672) for scientific as well as practical use and offers the musical text in modern keying and notation in accordance with scientific editing principles . It was originally published by Hänssler Verlag and is now published by Carus Verlag in cooperation with the Heinrich Schütz Archive of the Dresden University of Music.

Scope, structure and equipment

The edition should ultimately comprise 23 volumes, currently 8 volumes have been published. All volumes contain extensive information from the editor as well as a detailed critical report. In contrast to other complete editions, all works are faithfully reproduced in their original key and vocal range.

The “Stuttgarter Schütz-Ausgabe” will be finished with the following volumes, eight of which have currently been published.
