Stylianos "Stelios" Negrepontis ( Greek Στυλιανός "Στέλιος" Νεγρεπόντης , born February 22, 1939 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek mathematician.

Negrepontis studied physics with a bachelor's degree in 1961 and mathematics with a master's degree in 1963 and a doctorate in 1965 at W. Wistar Comfort (A homology theory of real compact spaces) at the University of Rochester . He was from 1965 Assistant Professor at Indiana University in Bloomington, from 1966 Associate Professor at McGill University in Montreal, which he remained until 1976. From 1973 he was a professor at the University of Athens , where he retired in 2006. From 1983 to 1989 and 1992 to 1994 he was head of the mathematics faculty and vice-rector from 1986 to 1988.

It deals with general topology.
