Sub communione

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Protestant liturgy and church music, sub communione (more precisely: Musica sub communione ) refers to the music that is played during the distribution of communion during Holy Mass or the Last Supper . This can be vocal music or organ music.

During the distribution of communion, communion has its place in Holy Mass , originally an antiphonal chant, consisting of an antiphon and a matching psalm , of which today only the antiphon is usually left as part of the proprium of Holy Mass.
