Sudeten German Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association
The Sudeten German Workers 'Gymnastics and Sports Association (ATUS) was a German workers' sports association in Czechoslovakia .
In 1909, an independent Austrian Workers' Gymnastics Association was founded in Prague with a focus on German Bohemia . In March 1919 the Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association emerged in Czechoslovakia . In 1924 in Karlovy Vary , 1930 in Ústí nad Labem and 1936 in Chomutov , the ATUS each organized a large national gymnastics festival.
After the end of the workers' sports movement in the German Reich when the National Socialists seized power , the Sudeten German ATUS gained greater importance in the socialist sports international.
