Sudislav (Pskov)

Sudislaw (* before 1014; † 1063 in Kiev ) was Prince of Pskov (1014-1036) and the youngest known son of Vladimir the Great .

Life

His year of birth is unknown, as is the mother's name and origin.

In 1014 he became prince in the newly created principality of Pskow after the fighting between his brother Yaroslav and his father began. In 1036 he was deposed and imprisoned by Yaroslav.

In 1059 his sons released him on the condition that he renounced the throne of the Grand Duke in Kiev. In 1063 he died as a monk in St. George's Monastery in Kiev.
