Sugaku ( 数学 - す う が く , Japanese for ' mathematics ') is the name for a solitary logic game.

Rules and terms

Sugaku is a logic puzzle game, consisting of fields arranged like a grid. There are three types of fields:

  • Note fields: These fields are arranged on the edge and revealed from the start. They are provided with numbers that indicate how many number fields are in the row or column. This means that these numbers can have values ​​from 0 to NH or NV. X = number of columns, Y = number of rows, NH = X - 1, NV = Y - 1
  • Number fields: These fields are provided with numbers that indicate how many number fields are in their immediate vicinity. This means that these numbers can only take values ​​from 0 to 8.
  • Foul fields: These fields are not marked with numbers. They differ in color from the number and note fields. The aim of the game is to reveal all number fields without revealing the foul fields.
