Sulfenyl chlorides are a group of substances in organic chemistry with the general formula R – S – Cl, more precisely they are chlorides of sulfenic acid (R – S – OH). Trichloromethanesulfenyl chloride (Cl 3 C-S-Cl) and chlorocarbonylsulfenyl chloride (Cl-CO-S-Cl), examples of preparatively employed sulfenyl chlorides.
