The Sulzer Tunnel is a 296 m long railway tunnel on the Stuttgart – Tuttlingen line in Sulz am Neckar .

The straight tunnel, which runs between the route kilometers 94.703 and 95.001, accommodates a track that can be driven at up to 110 km / h. In the area of ​​the north portal, a second track leads out on a switch in a northerly direction.

The southern entry signal of the station Sulz am Neckar is southwest of the tunnel, the tunnel is thus operationally part of the station.

The structure was capitalized in 1927 .

In 2008, the structure was rated 1 ("Punctual damage to the structural part that does not affect safety. Measures for preventive maintenance are to be checked for their economic viability in the case of structural parts that are to be preserved over the long term (longer than 30 years)."), 2014 and 2017 Condition grade 3 ("Extensive damage to the structural part, which does not affect the stability. Repairs are still possible, their profitability must be checked").

Around 2014 the tunnel was used daily by 14 long-distance passenger trains, 35 local rail passenger trains and 19 freight trains.

In 2014, a three-year renovation of the masonry was planned from 2015.
