Sumartin is a place on the east coast of the Croatian island of Brač with about 350 inhabitants.

history

The place was founded in the 17th century by people who fled the Turks from Bosnia. On November 11, 1646 they named him after St. Martin. St. Martin's Church, built in the 20th century, is a famous building in the village.

Infrastructure

A car ferry runs from Sumartin to Makarska . Many mainland families own holiday homes in Sumartin and spend the summer there. The annual water polo tournaments on the Riva are a summer event for the residents of the village. The young men from the village play a tournament with four teams from four different parts of the village, twice each against each other.
