Sun Peaks Resort is a ski resort located 50 km (driven distance) northeast of Kamloops in British Columbia , Canada .

Before July 1993, Sun Peaks was known as Tod Mountain , named for the resort's tallest ski mountain. The first chairlift , the Burfield Chair , and also the Burfield Lodge opened in 1961. In 1968 the lift was damaged by fire, so that it had to be closed for repairs until December 1970.

In 1992, Tod Mountain was bought by Nippon Cable Company Ltd. bought from Tokyo .

The ski area includes the three mountains Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain and Mt. Morrisey.

Sun Peaks is on the Neskonlith-Douglas Reservation. The expansion of the ski area and the commercial development of the region are therefore controversial.
