Sun Radio Ibiza

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sun Radio Ibiza was a German-speaking radio station for Ibiza and Formentera . The Sun Radio Ibiza studio was founded in 2001 as the successor to Ibiza Life Radio and was located on the premises of Onda Cero Radio which is 100% owned by the Spanish Telefónica Group. The Sun Radio Ibiza program could be heard on FM frequency 91.7 MHz in Ibiza and Formentera and on the Internet worldwide.

history

The initiator of Sun Radio Ibiza was Jürgen "Yuma" Schumm, a typical representative of the 1960s / 70s Ibizan hippie generation who had already worked for Ibiza Life Radio . From Monday to Friday, initially from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and later from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., a program was broadcast in German - but also with international guests. A webcam has been in the studio since 1999, which was one of the first studio cameras in Europe to transmit recordings live to the Internet.

Jürgen "Yuma" Schumm passed away in December 2004. Before that, the DJ David Moreno (at the end of 2003 switched to Ultima Hora Radio Ibiza since 2006 with "Ibiza Global Radio") and the presenter Max Schlotzhauer (autumn 2004) left the station. The shipments of Sun Radio Ibiza were temporarily suspended in May of 2005.

activities

In summer 2006, program operations were resumed in a shortened form. Due to the now simplified technical possibilities, broadcasts from Sun Radio Ibiza are not only produced in Ibiza in winter, but also across Europe at the respective location of the target group.

It is planned to set up a local studio in Berlin for the entire winter of 2008/2009 , as the music location Berlin is very similar to Ibiza .

Max Schlotzhauer has been working again as editor-in-chief of Sun Radio Ibiza since 2006.
