Sunshine Village

Sunshine Village is a ski area within Banff National Park in the Canadian province of Alberta .

The ski region of the Banff National Park has been internationally known since the 1988 Winter Olympics , which took place in and around Calgary . In addition to excellent snow conditions, the Rocky Mountains offer a particularly impressive panorama. Sunshine Village is the second largest ski area in the Canadian province of Alberta after Lake Louise .

The ski area has 13.6 square kilometers of passable terrain (a total of 108 runs). The descent called "Delirium Dive" is particularly popular among freeriders thanks to its variety.

Sunshine Village has the longest ski season in the Rockies (November to May). The Delirium Dive is with an average gradient of 39 degrees, in some sections almost 50 degrees, one of the steepest descents in the Rocky Mountains.
