Great!!! previously 'SuperMag', was a TV show produced by MME Me, Myself & Eye Entertainment on Sat.1 . It first aired on April 10, 1994 . The live broadcast, each lasting around 50 minutes, ran every Sunday morning and was moderated by Markus Gerwinat and Gero Pflaum . The show was later moved to Saturday morning and was extended to 1 hour and took place with studio guests. Shortly before the cancellation, the broadcasting time was reduced to 30 minutes and finally removed from the program in 1995 after a total of 49 episodes.

The content was great! a youth news magazine with studio guests, videos and many interactive elements. Viewers could participate in the program from home by fax or telephone. Edgar, the first camera dog on German television, was also very popular.

The studio was set up as a colorful kitchen with a counter, refrigerator, etc. The camera team and the moderators also went out on the street for reports.

A pug also took part in the program, he had a camera strapped to his back and was filming what he saw. When the picture was shown by the camera, there was a frame around the picture that said “Doggy Cam”.

One episode featured “dog beer”, which, as the name suggests, is a tetrapak drink similar to non-alcoholic beer for dogs. Over time, this product developed into a running gag.

Name change

Originally SuperMag, the name was given because of the ZDF program Dr. Mag and a related litigation too super !!! changed.
