Super galactic plane

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The supergalactic plane is the reference plane of the supergalactic coordinate system .

It is an important structure in the local universe and is formed by the arrangement of the nearby galactic clusters Virgo Clusters , the Great Attractor, and the Perseus Pisces Supercluster on a two-dimensional plane. The supergalactic plain was recognized by Gérard de Vaucouleurs in 1953 , although William Herschel noted the flat distribution of nebulae 200 years earlier.
