The document

Supersemar (abbreviation for Surat Perintah Sebelas Maret , in German March 11, 1966) was a decree allegedly signed by Indonesian President Sukarno on March 11, 1966 , authorizing Lieutenant General Suharto to take all measures to avoid the failed coup attempt of September 30, 1965 to ensure order. In retrospect, the Supersemar Order is seen as a turning point in Indonesian history that transferred power from Sukarno to Suharto. In 1966 Sukarno was ousted and in 1967, after a year of transition, Suharto finally became president and thus the sole ruler.
