2004/05 Supersport Series

The 2004/05 Supersport Series was the 76th season of the national first-class cricket competition in South Africa, formerly known as the Currie Cup, and was held from October 7, 2004 to March 21, 2005. The Eagles and Dolphins played a draw in the final and shared the title.

format

The teams played two games in each division against each other. A team received 10 points for a win and 6 points for a draw (both teams achieve the same number of runs ). If no result is achieved and the game ends in a draw, both teams get 0 points, if the game is canceled, 5 points. There is also the possibility of collecting bonus points in the first 100 overs of the first inning . One point is awarded for the first 150 runs and 0.02 points for each further run, 1 bowling bonus point is awarded for reaching the 3, 5, 7, 9 wicket. If the game duration is reduced to one day, no bonus points will be awarded. It is also possible that teams are deducted points if, for example, they play too slowly or the pitch is not properly prepared. At the end of the season, the two winners played the winner in a final.
