The Supply Chain Council (SCC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing the Supply Chain Operation Reference model .

The Supply Chain Council was founded in 1996 by Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (PRTM) and AMR Research, two management consultancies from Boston. Initially the SCC consisted of 69 members, now that number has increased to over 1000 members. These are mostly companies from a wide variety of industries and levels of the value chain . The focus is on practical experience, but there are also scientific members such as universities among them.

The main goal of the Supply Chain Council is to efficiently manage the value chain. The self-developed and standardized SCOR model is intended to increase the efficiency of companies in supply chain management .

In 2014 the Supply Chain Council merged with APICS under the new name APICS Supply Chain Council (APICS SCC). The two organizations had cooperated for a long time.
