Sursurunga is one of the oceanic languages, which form a subgroup of the Austronesian language family. It is spoken by 3000 people on the island of New Ireland (part of Papua New Guinea ).

Due to an alleged quadral (Hutchisson, 1986), the number system of language has been discussed several times.
