Susan Elizabeth Garden, Baroness Garden of Frognal (born February 22, 1944 in London ) is a liberal British politician .

Susan Garden studied foreign languages at St Hilda's College at Oxford University and was married to Thimothy Garden, a college friend who died on August 9, 2007 and with whom they had two children. Through her husband's work as an officer in the RAF , she worked in many places from 1965–1985. a. also in Germany as a teacher. Susan Garden lives in London, where she worked full-time for the City and Guild London Institute from 1988 to 2000 and worked as a consultant in the field of vocational training until 2008.

Susan Garden was the candidate for the Liberal Democrats in the 2005 local elections in Camden and for the House of Commons in the constituency of Finchley and Golders Green (London) in 2005.

After the death of her husband, she was raised to a life peer as the Baroness Garden of Frognal , of Hampstead in the London Borough of Camden in September 2007 .

In 2008 she was the Speaker of the House of Lords for "Children, School and Family" and in 2009 for "Universities and Professional Qualifications". Susan Garden has been a Government Whip in the House of Commons since 2010 and is the spokeswoman for the Department of Culture Media and Sports for the Olympic Games , Sports, National Lottery and Tourism sub-areas , as well as the spokesperson for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills for the Higher sub-area Education (German higher education ) and the spokeswoman for the Department of Education (corresponds to the Ministry of Education ).
She is the current Vice-Chair of the Oxford University Society and the Institute of Export .
