Susanne Hubberten

Susanne Hubberten (* 1922 in Reutlingen ; † June 13, 1990 there ) was a German local politician. First a local politician for the Free Democratic Party and lateral thinker, she was later the founder of the Free List of Women in Reutlingen (FFL) and the FFL's representative on the Reutlingen city council.

Life

Susanne Hubberten was the daughter of an entrepreneurial family in Reutlingen . She was particularly interested in children and the political participation of women.

Inspired by her practice in Sweden , she and Anneliese Maußhardt founded the Reutlinger Dayminder Association in 1973. The so-called “ Reutlinger Model ” subsequently became a model for many other day-care organizations across the country and nationwide.

Susanne Hubberten was initially active for the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and was a city and district councilor. In 1984 she founded the first women's party, Freie Frauenliste Reutlingen, and was its representative on the city council until 1989.

In 1989, Susanne Hubberten received the Federal Cross of Merit. Thanks to her political commitment, many kindergartens, crèches and day care places have been created in Reutlingen. She was committed to the active playground, the Waldorf School Association , the Association for Environmental Protection and the German Child Protection Association .
