The Sussex is a domestic chicken breed that was first bred in England ( Sussex ) at the beginning of the 19th century , using the Cochin and Brahma as the basis . It is a so-called " Zwiehuhn ". That means it is both a good fattening animal and an abundant egg supplier.
Appearance
The body is box-shaped, almost square. It has a short neck and tight-fitting wings. Sussex chickens come in both medium to large breeds and dwarf forms. There are two main races, the whites and the reds. With optimal breed characteristics, both have a basic color (red or white depending on the breed) and a black neck and tail. The following colors are known: silver-white-columbia, red-columbia, yellow-columbia, colored and brown Sussex. Sussex chickens are popular pets .
