Nova Mamoré , officially Portuguese Município de Nova Mamoré , is a small town in the state of Rondônia in Brazil . As of July 1, 2018, the population was estimated at 29,757 inhabitants, who lived on around 10,072 km² (2017).
The settlement is closely linked to the construction of the Madeira-Mamoré railway . The place was founded on June 15, 1988 by spinning off from Guajará-Mirim .
location
Nova Mamoré is 7 km west of the confluence of the Bolivian river Madre de Dios in the Río Mamoré , 40 km north of the town of Guajará-Mirim . The Reserva Extrativista do Rio Ouro Preto , which was set up on March 13, 1990 on 204,583 hectares and is one of the usable reserves in the Amazon rainforest, lies within the municipal boundaries . The place is part of the Pacaás Novos National Park ( Parque Nacional de Pacaás Novos ).
