Microsoft Swiftkey

Microsoft SwiftKey is an input method for devices with touchscreens such as smartphones and tablet computers . The application uses technologies such as n-grams and artificial neural networks for auto-completion and word prediction; she learns from previous messages. The aim is to speed up text entry.

history

SwiftKey was founded in 2008 by Jon Reynolds and Ben Medlock. With headquarters in Southwark , London , and branches in San Francisco and Seoul , it currently employs around 160 people.

In September 2013, various investors including Accel Partners , Index Ventures and Octopus Investments acquired a minority stake in SwiftKey in a $ 20 million financing round.

In February 2016, the company was completely taken over by Microsoft for 250 million US dollars.
