Swinford, County Mayo
Swinford ( Irish Béal Átha na Muice , "mouth of the ford of the pig") is a country town in Ireland . It is located in the east of County Mayo in the province of Connacht on a tributary of the River Moy . During Census 2016 1394 people lived in the city.

Swinford is up to the national roads N5 ( Westport - Longford ) and N26 ( Ballina -Swinford). On October 1, 1895, the city received a railway connection. On June 17, 1963 the passenger and on November 3, 1975 all traffic was stopped. A reactivation of the route is planned.
