The SWP Holding AG (until May 18, 2010 Swiss Printers AG , market presence Swissprinters ), headquartered in Zofingen is a company active in the graphic arts industry joint venture of the Swiss media houses Ringier and NZZ Media Group . The company emerged in 2004 from the merger of the printing departments of the NZZ media group and Ringier. In mid-2006 Edipresse (hereafter Tamedia Publications romandes) also joined this. In August 2012, SWP Holding acquired TPR's minority stake of 16 percent in Swissprinters AG.
The Swissprinters group, managed under the umbrella of SWP Holding AG, comprised four operations in Zofingen, Zurich, St. Gallen and Lausanne until October 2011. These came from Ringier Print Zofingen AG ( Swissprinters AG ) founded in 1833, NZZ Fretz AG ( Swissprinters Zürich AG ) founded in 1860, Zollikofer AG (Swissprinters St. Gallen AG) founded in 1789 and Imprimeries Réunies Lausanne SA ( Swissprinters Lausanne founded in 1906) SA ).
Due to the consistent focus on industrial print production with concentration at the Zofingen web offset location, the two locations in Zurich and St. Gallen were closed at the end of June 2012. At the end of 2012, operations in Lausanne were transferred to a new constellation (new IRL +, Renens ).
Swissprinters provides web offset printing, premedia and publishing services. The company employs around 320 people and in 2012 generated annual sales of around 126 million Swiss francs.
The majority shareholder of SWP Holding AG is Ringier AG with a 70 percent stake , while the NZZ media group holds 30 percent of the shares.
