Swissrail
The Swissrail Industry Association (spelling: SWISSRAIL) is an association of the Swiss rail industry.
It brings together over 100 Swiss companies that provide services and produce products for rail transport worldwide . The members work in 6 specialist groups; These range from planning to the construction of infrastructures, power supply, control, sales and security systems, rolling stock and workshop facilities.
The objectives and activities of Swissrail are as follows:
- Support of transport companies and government agencies in their search for a suitable Swiss partner
- Representation of the interests of the members in politics and business
- Export promotion
- Organization of appearances at trade fairs worldwide
- Tracking the international tendering market
- Collecting market-relevant information for the members
- Securing the financing of large foreign projects
Michaela Stöckli has been the director since January 1, 2010, and the following people have been on the Executive Committee since September 2016: Peter Jenelten (Stadler Rail AG, President), Dr. Armin Raiber (Airex Composite Structures, Vice President), Marcel Kalbermatter (Amberg Technologies AG, member), Martin Deiss (ABB Schweiz AG, member).

The foundation stone for the Swissrail Industry Association was laid in 1977 by the Association of Swiss Machine Manufacturers (VSM), chaired by the then delegate of the Confederation for trade contracts. 37 companies joined with the aim of promoting exports: "Through joint efforts abroad it is necessary to close the sensitive gaps that have already arisen and will continue to arise as a result of the declining investment activity of public transport companies in Switzerland."
Swissrail has been a member of Litra since 2010 and a member of the economic umbrella organization Economiesuisse since 2012 .
