Synagogue in Mirosławiec

The synagogue in Mirosławiec (German Märkisch Friedland ), a town in the Powiat Wałecki of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship , was built in 1840. The Jewish population group settled in the 17th century with the consent of the then city lords (Barons von Blankenburg) had quickly grown to 1,400 people in the early 19th century, they had a Torah school and their own cemetery with a stone wall, immediately south of the former Vorwerk " Sheep farm ”, which today would be located in the northern part of the city cemetery. The closest building to the southwest corner of the cemetery at that time was the local synagogue . The surrounding wall can be clearly seen on the left edge of the photo. On the access road to the "Schäferei" farm to the west of the cemetery, there was a sand pit, a small wood opposite the Jewish cemetery, and the village's shooting house to the southwest . The synagogue was burned down during the November pogroms in 1938 , today's parking lot to the municipal cemetery marks the location of the former synagogue.
