Synagogue in Zagreb

The synagogue in Zagreb was built in the Moorish style in 1866/67 according to plans by Franjo Klein (1828–1889) . During the time of the Independent State of Croatia , it was destroyed by Croatian fascists. At the beginning of February 2018, the Mayor of Zagreb, Milan Bandić , announced that a new synagogue would be built for the Jewish community in Zagreb .

The Vienna Leopoldstadt Temple served as a model .
