Synagogue in Brno

The Agudas Achim Synagogue in Brno ( Brno in Czech ), the second largest city in the Czech Republic and the administrative seat of the Jihomoravský kraj (South Moravian Region), was built between 1934 and 1936. The synagogue at 13 Skořepka Street, 500 m east of the city center, is a protected cultural monument.

history

Of the original four synagogues in Brno, only the functionalist synagogue, built by the orthodox association Agudas Achim based on a design by the architect Otto Eisler , is still preserved today. This is the youngest synagogue in Moravia and the only one in the region that today serves its original purpose.
