Syncarcinogenesis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Synkanzerogenese denotes a gain of the tumor induction by simultaneous or sequential action of at least two carcinogens . This is possible in particular because both substances can trigger a tumor in the same organ .

example

The recurring exposure to tobacco smoke and high-percentage alcohol increases the risk of developing cancer of the base of the tongue compared to exposure to only one substance.

Comparisons

Cocarcinogenesis describes the effect that certain non-carcinogenic substances (= cocarcinogens or promoters ) increase the carcinogenic effect of carcinogens .
