Synovectomy

The term synovectomy or synovectomy ( removal of the synovial membrane ) means the open or arthroscopic ablation of the diseased synovial membrane ( synovial membrane , synovial membrane ). The procedure finds its application v. a. in the early and late treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and bacterial-infectious arthritis . Synovectomy is also used for osteoarthritis of different joints. Removing the synovium can slow down the destruction of the articular cartilage.
