Therapy concept / treatment focuses

The sysTelios Clinic is an acute psychosomatic clinic founded in 2007 as one of the first psychosomatic clinics in Germany to work intensively with the hypnosystemic therapy elements that Gunther Schmidt (also co-founder of the clinic) as a synthesis of hypnotherapy by Milton H. Erickson and the systemic therapy approach that emerged from family therapy. The clinic works with hypnosystemic concepts based on depth psychological and behavioral approaches. Essential indications that are treated in the clinic are u. a .:

The hypnosystemic element in the clinic's therapeutic approach is characterized, among other things, by the fact that it is not the stressful symptoms themselves that represent the problem, but the design of the internal relationship to these symptoms. In a strict focus on resources, it is also assumed that all people have the resources they need to master their challenges in principle and that they can come into contact again by focusing their attention - in particular on desired experiences and patterns and experiences. This is supported in the therapeutic process by integrative work with offers of conversation, body, art and music psychotherapy.

In the context of burn-out symptoms (often as an additional diagnosis to depression), for example, the strength and effectiveness of the hypnosystemic elements of therapeutic work in the clinic, in which the clients often realize that their painful state, which is often associated with failure, is a The effect of patterns that have been experienced for many years as successful as well as competent and especially not deficient patterns that are based on resources.

The effects of the therapeutic work are observed and documented in the clinic with the monitoring instrument SNS (Synergetic Navigation System, Günter Schiepek ). The clinic's contribution to transparency includes the satisfaction values and, in particular, the positive effects of the therapies, which are also asked of patients using the DASS-21 scale (Depression-Anxiety-Stress-Scale) and ISR tests (ICD 10 Symptom Ranking) for whom Opened to the public.

Organization concept

The organization is also designed analogously to the therapeutic concept based on eye level, resource focus, process reflection and participation. It is characterized by very flat hierarchies, self-organizing teams and very high levels of employee participation. With the design of organization and collaboration in 2015 and 2016, SysTelios was also a case study in the films of the "Eye Level" project, which portrays examples of future working environments in which people can develop their potential.

Network and aftercare

The clinic has a strong network both regionally and professionally. To this end, day-long events are regularly organized in which, for example, therapists and counselors are invited to deal with the concepts of the clinic. Networking with therapists, consultants and coaches is also institutionalized via a digital network forum supported by sysTelios. These activities, as well as specific aftercare offers, make a contribution to the clinic's therapy concept, which places great emphasis on the transfer of what has been learned and experienced during the inpatient stay into everyday life.

Buildings / architecture

The original building of the clinic, based on the former, renovated inn and hotel "Zum Tannenblick", was expanded significantly from April 2010 with an investment of 15 million euros. The new building and extension, completed in 2011, was the first new hospital building in Germany to be certified with a "silver" rating by the German Sustainable Building Council. In accordance with the therapy concept, in which clients experience themselves at eye level with the therapists, the clients were involved in the planning and the flexibility of the interior design reflects the dynamic character of the clinic and therapy system.
