Sznur was a Polish measure of length and means cord, chain. By decree of December 13, 1818, different length measures should apply from January 2, 1819, including Sznur.

The dimensional chain was

  • 1 Sznur = 10 Pretow / Rods = 75 cubits = 100 Preciki / Rodchen = 1000 Lawek = 1800 inches = 21,000 lines = 43,200 millimeters
  • 1 stave = 25 fathoms = 150 stops / foot
