Tähtvere (German: Techelfer ) is a former rural community in the Estonian district of Tartu with an area of 114.8 km². It had 2690 inhabitants (December 31, 2008). It has been part of the municipality of Tartu since 2017 .
In addition to the main town of Ilmatsalu (385 inhabitants), the rural community also included the villages of Haage, Ilmatsalu, Kandiküla, Kardla, Märja, Pihva, Rahinge, Rõhu, Tähtvere, Tüki and Vorbuse.
Tähtvere is known for the 5.2 km long hiking trail, which is ideal for bird watching in largely untouched nature.
