A detection reaction carried out on a spot plate: the iodine sample

The spot analysis ( English spot analysis or spot test ) is a method of qualitative chemical analysis . In spot analysis, tiny amounts of a sample to be analyzed and a reagent are brought together in a well of a spot plate . The total volume of sample and reagent is about 0.5 to 1 ml. From the occurrence of a color or precipitation reaction, conclusions can be drawn about the presence of components to be determined in the sample.
