B. for almost the entire past six years in a special deprivation chamber , which is identical to a Samahdi tank . All of the people involved in the acts are brutally killed in the further course. The question remains who is responsible for this.

The ending and the criticism

Very early in the course of the book it becomes clear that the experiments on Melanie should lead to strengthening her perception and mental powers. Since everyone involved perishes very early, the reader has a very early idea of how the book will end. It can be foreseen that Melanie herself judged her tormentors, and that with the help of the skills evoked by the experiments.

Out of body experiences and telekinesis

The book takes up some aspects of so-called astral travel . Such out of body experiences should actually be possible and already intended or spontaneously experienced by a large number of people. An intended out of body experience should, although not scientifically verifiable, be feasible in isolation or samahdi tanks .

In the novel, Melanie kills her tormentors with a kind of telekinesis , with the help of which she can move heavy objects or her victims herself and thus injure them.
