The Kunsthaus Kaufbeuren is an art gallery for the exhibition of contemporary and cultural-historical art in Kaufbeuren . It was built in 1996 under the founding director Boris von Brauchitsch with funds from the Kaufbeur building contractor and patron Hans Dobler . The house has been run by the Munich curator and art historian Jan T. Wilms since May 2015 .

Every year three to four exhibitions are shown, some in collaboration with other museums and institutions.

construction

The house with approx. 500 m² of exhibition space is located in the center of Kaufbeuren next to the Spittelmühlkreuzung, in the back yard of the historic hospital. The shape is based on medieval salt and grain stalls, and concrete and glass were used as materials.
